CHEYENNE – Burns senior Ethan Norris placed third in both the 110-meter hurdles (16.00 seconds) and 300 hurdles (41.41). He also finished fifth in pole vault (12 feet, 6 inches). The Broncs’ 4x400 relay quartet of juniors Mason Terry and Mason Medley and sophomores Hunter Munson and Shaw Martin crossed the finish line seventh (3 minutes, 35.06 seconds).
Senior Bella Laguna cleared 8-6 to finish in a five-way tie for fourth in pole vault. Sophomore Brynn Bach was in a three-way tie for ninth (8-0). Bach also joined seniors Payton Pollard, Saria Eklund and sophomore Josie Barrett on the sixth-place 4x800 relay team (11:09.31). Senior Brooke K. Hansen placed ninth in discus (100-8½).
Pine Bluffs junior Jessica Hoffman tossed the discus 113-3 to finish third. Freshman Avery Gray took seventh in triple jump (32-1). Senior Emily Haas was 12th in shot put (29-10Âľ).
The Hornets’ boys 4x100 relay team of senior Alex Head and juniors Shawn Shmidl, Tanner Long and Jesus Solis took seventh (46.17). Solis also placed eighth in long jump (18-10½). Sophomore Carsten Freeburg placed fourth in triple jump with a mark of 40-7¼.
Senior Mitchell Birkhofer took eighth in shot put with a heave of 46-1¾ and 10th in discus (129-0½).
